Military tech now raises private market sell prices instead of lowering them. The effect of Military Tech on Private market purchase prices is not changed. The theo bonus and military bases still work in the same way.

We are applying the inverse of mil tech. So if a country had 90% military tech, private market sell prices would be increased by 100/90 ~= 11% instead of 10%.

Players always had to choose between getting or not getting military tech. Military tech was the only tech that had negative side effects in some cases. In some ways, this was good. For example, this caused a split in demo destocking strategies. In some ways, this was bad. Just ask a tyranny farmer at war.

Reversing the effect of mil tech should strengthen farmers, especially those at war, slightly strengthen CI destocks, increase demand of mil tech towards the end of the set, and depress military prices around the end of the set. Effects will vary depending on the server length, obviously.

It's impossible to predict how everything will end up, but we'll change things around (or even reverse this change entirely) it if imbalances the game too much. Specifically, we want to be sure that farmers won't be too strong or that mil prices won't be depressed too much near the end of the set.

This change will go into effect as each server restarts.

to keep public market price from dropping so drastically when resellers kick in?

tho.. instant sell for resellers sounds intriguing.

there goes having resellers.... and the main use of military tech, although getting rid of the tech lowering sell prices is a great idea

my guess is that you are about to strip theos of their construction bonus,
so for the last six months you have been giving theos one incredible advantage after another to dampen the blow

i hope i am right))))

demand for mil has to be way down as Hs become cashers and techers instead of resellers

Non-demo max = 5/6
Demo max = 49/60
Theo max = 107/120 [edit i forgot we changed theo tech max]

That means a non-demo could sell bushels at $38 with max military tech
Demo with max military tech could sell bushels at $39
Theo with max could sell for $28 (edit... theo bonus must be factored in)

HOWEVER for MBR's, MB's will still lower prices on the selling market, so TMBR will still probably sell on public.

uhm clarification question: At what price would a theo with no tech be able to sell bushels for on PM?

This seems a very odd change, but I haven't fully wrapped my head around it yet=)

we generally go around making ridiculous LG's and annoying people until we get in a fight, and occasionally finish a decent NW.

i totally forgot about the TMBR still being lower due to the other factors lol.

makes it very very interesting..

hes expressing mil tech % as fractions instead of decimals

if you make the denominators common:

demo 98/120
mono 100/120
theo 107/120

i presume to get new private price you divide by the first number then multiply by the second

Has this started on the alliance server yet?
The reason I ask is my private sell price on bushels is steadily dropping as I get more military tech.
I have 87 % military tech and my private market sell price for bushels is $28. I even sold one just to be sure the display was correct.
You sold 1 Bushels
This generated $28 in new funds for your country!

No worries about farming strats getting any real bonus..The sell price in PM is not worth the price of the early tech..
Any fears of this making a farmer a stronger strat are un-warranted..

sure it is, food will rise to a floor of $39 fast - or a demo w/ mil strat can sit on a few thousand land and buy all the food he can under $39 and sell it on the private and make easy cash. Sure it will be a bit slow and painful at first, but then when you have a few hundred mil rolling, you could start to rake it in, all easy money without spending a single turn.
I tested it in express -

also it doesn't seam to affect tmbr- so this is a big change.

yah exactly.

i'll give food a higher floor strengthening farmer as an early strat. How much will it affect food peaks? I havnt really thought about that yet....but thats all this change will do.

its not as revolutionary a change as i initially thought it would be.

it doesnt change the mechanics of current strats. the same strats that have been used for the past x years will all still essentially work - perhaps with some tweaking ofc.

There is a limit to how much tech a country needs...

Reselling this way only helps Demo's without MilBases really, because Mil Bases still depress your market sell values.

Even with maxed out Mil tech Mil bases still drop your PM bushel Sell into the 20's. So it's not really an instant sell for resellers, it does however inflate the Private market price, and make some interesting plays for Demo bushel reselling off the public market.

yes i made several million on express with demo buying food and reselling publicly last night

the one thing it does is make it so that no F should sell on their own private market
put it out their for 37 and even if it 9 million bushels one democracy can buy it all in five minutes

and yes if you had mil bases the strat self destructs

Actually the first post wasn`t clear at all...

`Military tech now raises private market sell prices instead of lowering them. Private market purchase prices are not effected.`

The first time I read this, I thought it meant that military tech will no longer have any impact on PM purchasing prices (because thats what it means, as currently stated).
