should be removed in my opinion

why should we reward people for not playing?

games that thrive these days are ones you can constantly play

over the years i've had to explain to so many a new player, to stop logging in all the time, to slow down, and wait for turn bonus, as their country will do better with more turns

those players found that really odd, and i could tell that it removed some of their excitement for the game, since they just wanted to be able to play their turns every hour

we're all no longer on 56k dialup with limited internet access. and the server's bandwidth doesn't need people taking a break from logging in, in order to handle the demand

so in my opinion, its a very outdated, and actually a detrimental bonus.

i still like the idea of having a turn bonus somehow...just don't have any ideas as to what it could be other than arbitrary time limits like there are now.

maybe flip it, reward activity somehow?

also, the turn bonus as it stands keeps people from using screen refreshers all day maybe?

There is no need to screen refresh all day unless you're at war. I agree that these bonuses are detrimental. It forces people to set the game aside once they are already on site.

theres market bots and country bots and such that refresh all ingame data constantly on 3rd party sites anyway

rewarding activity would be great i think. i don't know how that would be implemented though

Change it from 3 and 6 turns to 1 and 2 turns. Maybe add interest on cash on hand? Would add a new element combining with the Cash decay over 2bil thing.

The reason why it was implemented was probably because Mehul didn't want people on 24/7, eating up his bandwidth for Utopia.

definitely implemented to prevent server bandwidth from getting eaten up. we need to move away from 10 year old thinking though :)

Yea it was definitely a server bandwidth thing, market refreshing i believe was part of the reason; that's one of the reasons I pushed for standing orders, as it *really* removes the entire reason behind market refreshing

ya agree this should totally be removed. It takes away some of the talent from the game too as grabbing a target might not be worth it if it makes you lose a 3 or 6 turn bonus...
