Yeah I dont see much reason to give untagged people benefits such as that.

I would also like to see the restart bonus only last for one death. If you die twice, I think you should restart completely. That should also be a very easy change to make– add a counter.

I like this.

Restart Bonus may only be applied to a country that was in a tag of at least X number of countries, and may only be granted once a restarted country has:

a) Re-tag to the alliance they were a member of when they died; and
b) The tag leader has approved the granting of the restart bonus once the restart has re-tagged

Means that countries that were tagged can't then use their restart bonus to then go off and take revenge actions untagged. They can still go and grief if they want but they'll have to build up without the restart bonus. Sort of like an incentive for countries to both restart and re-tag, and a drawback to not re-tagging.

I said it from the beginning that restart bonus is a bad idea, but what do I know.....should be discarded all together, no restart bonus like the good ol days, if you make a rule about it then all these suiciders will tag up together and suicide again 🤷

Opinions on this kind of change?

1) The restart bonus is only available once per country.
2) The restart bonus is only available for countries that have been in the same tag for the past 72 hours.

Having the restart bonus should come out of your Earth Empire's credits. Make it a premium service where you need to use more credits per 30 days and you get that benefit. That would draw some revenue that could be used for advertising or game development.

I like 1 and 2, but I'd be curious about the war perspective.

@Leto - gross. That could make premium a large influence in a war, which I don't think has ever been the philosophy here.

Bump for additional thoughts on this one, as it'd be nice to help limit the impact of irrational griefers. Note that in changeset 25, the restart bonus no longer exists outside of clan servers, in case that alters anyone's perspective.

To clarify, 1) is the most impactful to allow clans to outgrow griefers after repeatedly spending hundreds of turns killing them, but it would certainly impact late-start wars where a fresh restart would have a significant gap. That said, it's not hard for anyone to create their own tag, so 2) would mainly catch the detag scenario that I think is a little less frequent.
