how is it so laggy and buggy though, look at ESD, it shows one country from last set at 9.82m net, the top ten hasn't been reset and some elements of the market are just missing(this set it's milt strat tech market stats)

You know the person who wrote/runs boxcar is also the same person that wrote/runs Earth Empires right? He either dedicates his time to improving EE or boxcar, but he doesn't have time for both anymore.

ya, I love when people whine about the lack of time to continue maintaining the old free services I used to offer because the new one I work on requires my time more. Boxcar remains up as a courtesy to the community. I hope another trustworthy hosting site comes along that everyone can migrate to and I can stop having to split my focus.

ps. did you even look at the other non-boxcar websites or the in-game market information before making this thread? or are do you just here to complain without actually knowing what the other options and/or deficiencies are?

if it's something just to do with time restraint I'm sure there are a lot of ppl in the EE community that would donate time to help you out Pang.

And I just read some awesome threads on ideas you and the other EE mods are working on, sorry for the rudeness.

And that's where you're wrong. Suppose I have the ability to write a better tool. From my perspective, I would keep my new tool as a tool that only my alliance can use so that my alliance has an advantage over other alliances.

All the following are examples of EE tool websites, most of which are propriety and are usable only by the clan that the owner is in.

ya, Xin... that's exactly the problem -- developers focus on their alliance first and the wider community is an afterthought (if they are thought of at all).

Like I said, I hope someone will come in with the same attitude I had in 2008-9 and make something nice, new and public!

Well Forgotten, another problem is one of trust. Do you trust the other clans (developers) who might have tools admin and forum admin not to read your clan forums that are hosted on a shared and collaborated site?

eh bigger problem is coordination and programming styles &etc

Someone needs to have a public open to all alliances hosting site otherwise some of the smaller alliances or alliances with a lack of programmers would suffer and may even die off.

However if a person HAD to they could just use a message board and eestats.com or earthgraphs.com although that would be a poor solution.

I appreciate the work you put in on boxcar pang. For me it's ok if you just leave it as is and work on the game instead. It works good enough as is to be a viable option.

I do think that people or other alliances need to think about the community over themselves a little bit.
