how could 3800 not optimal?
after 1912 acres, your explore rate goes down. So from 1900 i batch explore to ~3800 which takes less than 50 turns unless you're unlucky.

i can get 2000A with a tyranny... in 20turns..easy.. but thats hard to do ALL ROUND without multitappin..in express...

I don't see much of a point to start attacking when i'm below 2 mil net. The % formula for landgrabs is based on % difference not the delta between nw. So at low nw, it is harder to get max gains when attacking because the difference between 500k vs 300k nw is the same as the difference between a 5mil nw country vs a 3 mil nw country. That being said, the gains are too low when i can still gain 22 acres per explore. Ok so 10 turns get me 220 acres vs 2 turns. But attacking cost me units, cash, and added risks of retals.

For my situation, it is best if i explore to at least 9k acres.
