Slagpit,

1. Large country (GDI member) attacks small country.

2. Small country (non-GDI member) is not allowed to retaliate.

What is the reasoning behind this?

GDI provides protection for a price. If you don't want to pay for the protection, you can choose that, but that doesn't nullify any other country's protection from being in GDI.

If the issue is humanitarians, then that is different - but I think all of these have been explained a number of times in the forums previously.

It's so suiciders can't randomly suicide, if you stay within 4x the NW of the country that took land from you, then you can retaliate.

Great explanations both. Thank you.

To follow up on your explanation- so essentially, a larger country that is in GDI can attack a smaller country, not in GDI, as many times as the larger country wants, wirh zero fear of any repercussions correct?

If that is the case, do you think that the developers inherently want all countries to be in GDI?

There seems to be very little benefit, if any, of not being in GDI. Just an interesting dynamic.

It's a bad user experience for sure. I have advocated that if someone hits you... you can retal regardless of humans/gdi.

The ol' hit a noob (josey in this case) and jump out of range is kind of lame for the noob (josey).

Yeah I agree with that, once you're hit then you should be able to retal regardless of size.

Your summary is incorrect. GDI does not prevent any attacks if you've been hit multiple times. Once someone hits you 2x, they have "broken GDI" and it no longer has protection against that country. I think you are once again struggling with the humanitarian range where you cannot hit someone more than 4x your size regardless of GDI. Honestly, it probably protects you more than it hurts you given your skill level, but as Req notes, there have been a number of players who have brought up discussion of whether it continues to make sense.

Yeah Josey would be getting farmed to the ground if it wasn't for the humanitarian protection 😂

It’s an interesting game. No retaliation allowed.

It is allowed. You are incapable. Does that help clarify?

My thought is that if you have, lets say, missiles and someone on the edge of humans farms you 5x then jumps out of range it is a _one way_ free pass from humans for the defender to be able to send a nuke to the aggressor (a limited number of attacks based on how many times they were hit), not a two-way street for the aggressor to continue to farm, the aggressor in this case has to choose to jump out of humans risking a limited number of retail hits or stay low enough to continue farming– in both cases the defender could have some possibility of hitting back in some manner.

It has been a common complaint by noobs for a while, search the forums.

It is still, very much, a skill issue that he cannot hit back but it is demoralizing to some individuals when they cant do anything. We will prob always have some % of the player base that is so bad that this happens. And it may cause some of them to quit, I'm sure it has in the past.

We want noobs here too because the whales need them to have fun!

At a certain point it becomes a waste of time.

There are 72 players in Primary.

The population of Earth is 7.9 Billion.

It’s like a high tech knitting technique that less than 72 people on the planet know how to do.

Lots of luck.
