Where can i find how much food you can have before it decays? Currently got 100m bushels..

this only affects what is on hand, but from http://wiki.earthempires.com/index.php/Game_Formulas

Bushels Before Turn is Taken = BBT
Bushels Consumed During Turn = Cons
Bushels Produce During Turn = Prod
( BBT - Cons + Prod ) / 1000

basically you can have 0 bushels in hand if you want to avoid decay when using turns.

this sounds dangerous.

Other than the Resource Decay bonus, are there strategies that can reduce the rate of decay?

Got it, thanks Marshal. Is decay based on country metrics that are independent of current stores? Is it better to keep food close to depletion and buy often, or just buy enough for how many turns will be played? Those might be the same question. Not sure if know enough about inner game mechanics to ask the right question.

buy as you need unless doing batchexplore (spending all turns in hand on exploring). i'm bit lazy so i buy upto 999k bushels and play turns and when food in hand drops low i buy few 100k bushels more and spend more turns.
