Apologies if its already on here, but I couldn't find it. I know part of the land upkeep formula is:

Land * 10 if Land >= 5000 acres , but it seems like < 5000 acres it slides from 5 to 10 an acre as you get closer to 5000. Can someone help me with the second part?

exploring is good option but if you want to grab land then tyranny farmer/indy, dictator farmer or communist indy.

indies mostly producing jets.

If your grab would gain you more acres than exploring would give you in those turns (or that turn if you are a tyranny) + some more to make up for the cost of oil and units. That would be the point when grabbing would be better. Mind you, watch for getting retalled! Exploring might be the safer option. You have to decide that for yourself.

Different servers also have different grabbing environments.

Good luck!

I had a country with about 1m land a few sets ago and the land upkeep was just under 10 dollars an acre.

I think the formula is this when you are small in acreage.

(Land^2)*7/1500+3*Land
