Though this does save me from writing one, as Death Before Disco was definitely going to call in their allies (DBD2).

Thats just wierd, Viceroy. If you really want to be that way, consider it a joint declaration of war from the Vengeance block (the four "vengeance" themed tags) on the DBD block (all DBD themed tags). Personally I'm in Av3ngers, but I believe people hit from all tags, so it shouldn't be that hard to clarify.

And I believe we only killed 3.

1 in DBD2 plus the original 3 in DBD by my count. But I'm not really paying attention.

And I never claimed to not be weird.

Doesnt look like we were farming you at all to me and you guys were retalling the few hits we had done perfectly fine (ok a few times you didnt break through but its not all that hard to get more jets)

4 teams against 2 is not really much of a competition on this server with an FS and all that, so the end result was kind of a given. :-)

I was #50 and had gathered the ops about a half hour before my country was killed.
I had also requested that #59's country name be changed as i find it highly offensive. I wanted to bring my grandson into the game. I won't if language like that is allowed even after being reported as offensive.

I would agree that country name is pretty low class and offensive.

We're here because we enjoy the game. We all know we need to increase the player base.

As a community we have to agree that this kind of country name is offensive. I would like to see my 14 yr old grandson using the math this game offers and he has shown an interest when he sees me playing my turns. To me, this was very cool.

If he plays and enjoys, how many of his peers might he turn on to the game?
Now i realize i'm older then the avg earther but there's more than a few other players with children old enough to play.

If we want to be a real gaming community we really should self-police and let admin know when these kinds of names offend. Admin, in turn, needs to act quickly.

For the record, Devastation, I reported the name before your FS. There was a reason i did so that is different than i stated above but that will remain between me and Admin.

As for your FS, what can be said other than, congratulations that was devastating to DBD.
..and i guess it saved your butt from that coming retal.

But look at the news, there were zero crosstag retals and zero grabs from DBD.
But for what it was, it was impressive.

Now DBD was obviously preying on some of the weaker tags that share the name Veng so it was decided to stop them. Have a good war DBD!!!

So it is just like it looks.

Using four different venge tags you attacked and tagkilled DBD, a tag that had never grabbed you and never crosstag retaled.
For your angst with some grabs by DBD2 you FS and kill DBD.

I guess that makes sense, although if circumstances were reversed i may have played it differently. Still, an impressive FS.
But i do think our concepts of Teams as defined by tags differ, and that no doubt contributed to my initial kybd headbang wtf moment when i saw my country was dead.

It's all just DBD to us, cyref- Vengeance is used to just playing as one. Sorry if it's caused you any serious grief.

This war dec is beyond stupid, you failed to retal half the hits and you haven't been hit since Sep 22/10 10:25:32 PM. How does not getting hit for four days mean that DBD2 wasn't leaving you alone?

Morals of the story:
-dont grab people who are obviously war preping. 7 unprovoked hits in 3 days is overdoing it. It was at this stage that the decision was made to hit DBD.
-Dont share the same name as people who are attacking people who are war preping. DBD or DBD2, one is not the other? if we instead just hit DBD2 would it be better or worse? Would DBD not join DBD2? or watch DBD2 be tagkilled?

Oh no, 1.75 hits per tag! Maybe if you had actually put your 15 members into three tags instead of four, you'd both be hit less and actually be able to retal!

Charles i'm not arguing your point at all although my opinion is you overreacted. Maybe it was the Defense Helds that really ticked you off.
But if my four affiliated tags were all Revenge and Vengeance-oriented in name i would think there would be more satisfaction FSing the team that actually ticked me off before going after the tag that had left me alone all set.
You had the FS and you had the numbers to do whatever you wanted.

Well obviously that LG was made after plans were made.. not because of it. If DBD announced they were going to war a tag in 1 day, why not grab someone from that tag beforehand?

And just in case the sig throws you off, I don't really care all that much about team. OGT is (supposed to be) running the show. They asked if I'd run a country to help them out and so I did.

The concept of Team is nice but it was taken advantage of in the very first reset with cross-retals and having 4 tags all working together as if they were a 20 member clan. This is another example of it. Which is why it will never really work until they figure out a way to facilitate a change, which probably isn't a coding issue and more of a political/game rule issue.

You missed the point, Veng (the 4 tags) decided to war in team. We wanted a war, your LG's put the target on your head. We thought RD would mess with us ,because RD messes with everyone, but they didn't so we left them be.

To prove my point next set you hit RD like you Hit Veng. I bet they can tag kill you in half the time....

To be honest Charles I doubt it. As long as RD does what they have said they will do then if we do a couple of LGs on them once in a while they will simply retal them and be done with it. (although I bet you they would not have as many failed retals as you guys did *wink*)

Unless of course you think they are lying about how they want to play on the server. Of course that is a question you will have to debate with RD and has absolutely nothing to do with DBD so I wont bother to carry on that argument. Perhaps some RD representative will read this thread at some point and give their view of things. Who knows.

The bottom line here is that you wanted a war and you decided to pick an easy target. And yes, we did LG your four SEPARATE teams a few times but if we consider them as separate teams (as it should be on this server) then I dont think we did anything even near enough to warrant a war.
