Being in 1st place doesn't matter until the jumps start happening. There are lower ranks who were saving instead of spending. Having said that he/xir could be a fat techer who's early grabs gave him/they a boost in market.

Republic is a good choice for tech players who want to explore only (all-x). Less turns more teching.

Edit: Tyranny is good for Techers because you use less turns, if done correctly, to gain more land and get more tech turns.

A good way to increase your readiness, when attacking, is to either do spy ops (stir Rebellions, bomb buildings, etc), or to launch missiles. This way you are still attacking without wasting turns. If you are a techer you should attempt to research, this gets $ for war.

I dunno man. I'm not crazy about the "spend your cashing turns ABing small countries and bombing competition airbases" as the best strat. I'm still new here though. Lots to learn. Let's see how his getting stomped into the ground strat works.

Those are the other countries he multi tapped, AB farmed, or did hate ops on. EOS well-deserved. Not a griefer just greedy and a twisted sense of humor. Mayhaps this was the plan all along...

I have done his style of play a few times. It works depending on who your competitors are. Bring everyone down a peg in NW and you can climb above them sometimes.

I think if he was trying to win the round, he didn't really do very well with the aggressive strategy as compared to the all explore countries

I wonder what his reckless play will do to the server overall? My guess is that the top countries at the end of this round will have much lower net worth than normal, and a player who wasn't involved with sly will likely win

Some builds require grabs if you want top score. An all-x techer could win, as we see this round, but who knows if he didn't bomb those airbases or farm early risers. He could have won if gouche and the others didn't have their revenge. This game is replete with "what if's". Next round we'll see some skirmishes. Christmas break is over.

his intention was never to win this round. his intention was to prevent other people from reaching the goals that matter to them. this guy is the ultimate evil sadist. what's worse is that he is smart. he will do whatever is necessary to optimize his strategy of hurting other people's priorities (ie: what matters to them)

Tournament has always been little wild, I've played for a bit then stopped because I kept having a griefer suicide me *cough*helltard*cough* because he was offended by something I said on AT lol

i don't understand!! i'm glad that next set won't have him in game A, but.... he was 9th place when he died. Since the top 50% of players in game A remain in game A, and since there is 18 players in game A... if he had lived, he would have remained in game A!

Its called 2a because tournament was the 2nd server back on E2025. Primary and alliance was 2 games on the same server, the first one. Alliance was game A and therefore was called 1a, Primary was game B and was therefore called 1b.

there was actually a game mode called 'random' on game server 1 which held games C to S or something like that at one point. Small games with similar rules to primary but shared market with each others. All games in server 1 started the same time.

Anyway tournament was I belive like 8 levels with letters on all game A was the highest level, followed by B/C, then D/E/F and so on all the way to X/Y/Z. So because it was server 2 all games were denominated 2a, 2b, ... 2j to 2z or whatever.

oh, i now understand why it is called 2a. under that same naming system, back when the game was called earth 2025, the highest i ever got would be Game 2N
