Good Lord, bots went down again, it is almost every other day.

They come on, buy out the tech market and then go back off

Something must be very wrong with the server because the bots came on for a few hours and then broke.

Did the same thing again. They run turns and then no activity for over 24 hours. It's creating huge market swings.

It's been about 72 hours since the bots ran turns. This set has been a tech market disaster thus far.

That's a great question. I don't know if anyone knows. I suspect that a few months back some logic was changed and there is a loop that is attempting to pull more resources than the server has. This would explain why FFA's bots are stopping more than Alliance or Express, because I believe they run on the same logic - the only difference is count. But over the past 10 days the FFA bots have not played turns consecutively. They run through a batch of turns and break, and then get started up again. So the market gets bought out with 120 turns of play then the market gets flooded with bot tech/military/food but the bots stop playing. Also there is a DR component as well that is very hit or miss.

I suspect that the bot reroll has a server based error in it, which times out on the connection, until it is manually restarted. The bots seem to stop running turns on both FFA and 1a at the same time (same controller for both). The results you speak of Andrew is mostly just pure market related issues to everything going from short supply to large supply and back. If something in particular stopped bots market wise, it would only effect either the sellers, or the buyers (indies, or cashers/techers etc) This error is effecting both, so it is the controller that stops running.

I missed a week of turns because of the holidays and stuck at 50k acres and tech not selling...brutal!

I might be pretty close to done with FFA, so many sets you make grand strategies based on having a functional game, and a good portion of this does not work as well as it used to. I dont mind not setting any new records or anything, but it means no one has a real chance to do so, it is almost as to who has the most effective strategy for how broken the market is at the current set :/
