Yep.. yet there doesn't seem to be that many techers. Bus/Res had at least one buy out that I saw, yet the prices that followed were still in the same low range as they were before it sold out.

There is an easy calc to figure out max defense based on acreage... I've not used it in years though so its not coming to mind. I dont wanna go look it up, anyone remember?

I do estimate allies sometimes, and if I assume they are all turret with some spies, and a fairly decently built country with some reasonable tech... I estimate their military unit count about the same as their NW. From most spy ops its pretty close or you'll be over sending by a bit. Problem is estimating their tech and points bonus. That's why I only use that for the allies sometimes and not the target itself. If you assumed max defense max points max tech and max allies, you'll only get like 1 LG a day. Lol

I don't see spying on my target's alliances to be worth the extra turns at this point. I just attack with %150 and hope everything works out. Generally does.

each ally gives .25 RAW to a max of 100% your forces. however there are some strange occurrences sometimes when there are 0s in the equation on the target, from my experience.

the only time estimation should be considered is when you can't spy an ally due to humanitarians and the general rule is just estimate off a spy op against some within range that is of similar land size.

you need alot of indies as if your SPAL sucks, you will burn spies to know the true values to send.

yep and allies can't more than double country's defense so having ally with 5m turrets doesn't help that much if you have only 1m turrets.

So how do we find out who is setting these high prices so we can hurt them?

This is such silliness from marshal that I felt compelled to respond.

Firstly, please note that the word "forces", being tossed about above, is your own defensive units X your weapons %. So the maximum that your allies can come to your aid is GREATER than the number of turrets, tanks and troops you own.

Secondly, while an ally can only contribute 25% of THEIR actual forces (Not including weapons, Dictator bonus, etc) to your defence, that 25% contribution might equal 100% of your forces. In fact, in exactly the scenario Marshal used here, the ally with 5M turrets would contibute a defensive force equal to 100% of your own forces, plus some room for weapons as well. With such a large ally you wouldn't even need a second ally to reach your maximum defensive strength.

So Marshall is full of fluff when he suggests that that ally doesn't help you much :)

as i stated previously you get 0.25 RAW of your allies forces, to a maximum of 100% of your RAW forces for each unit type

the target's wep % is also applied to the RAW forces that the ally has provided you, or at least i apply it in my attack formula

the defensive bonus is only applied to your forces, not your allies in my experience, as i do not apply this in my attack formula

i'm not sure about the 1.25 factor for DICTs but i suspect it applies to both, similar to wep%

say you were at 1m turrets, 145% weap, 15% points def bonus and 25% dict bonus. 1,000,000x1.45x1.25x1.15= 2,084,375

-If you had an ally with 1m turrets you'd only get 250k
-If you had an ally with 5m turrets you'd get 1,250,000 turrets.
-If you had an ally with 10m turrets you'd get 2,084,375 turrets (max) from him.

I've been stocking on $65 food to resell at $36 on the last day. I may finish with a negative NW. Is there a record for lowest NW ever? There should be. KoH, I may need your missiles to accomplish this

The only way of reducing that is by start grabbing when you reach 5k acres, stay consistently on the offensive and if possible in the top 20 ;-)

I blame it on my lack of tech sales and needing to drop my tanks to turn a profit. Then again I was behind the land gaining for pretty much the whole set.

Tech has been fluffty, but few of us techers are hanging in there, you gotta stay aggressive pedal to the metal ;-)
